Hillside Intermediate School,

In 2008 I was commissioned by the school to paint a mural. The principal had seen my mural at the Long Hill Township Library and asked me to paint one for their school. Students from the art club helped with some finishing touches. They all did a great job.

When I first was asked in 2006 to do this mural I wasn’t anticipating the size of the space the library folks were talking about. I almost fainted when I saw the space they had in mind. Walls more than thirteen feet high! It turned out to be the most fun I have ever had painting on walls.

I enjoy painting with watercolor even when I'm not working on a book. I love the transparency of watercolor, and how each color shines through the other, giving the art an illuminable quality.
